Music is a vital part of our liturgical tradition

We believe that all instruments and all people, regardless of musical background, may blend together to glorify God in song. Both of our choirs are blessed with people who share their time and talent for the sake of assisting the congregation in worship.  These dedicated individuals are literally the pulse and sound of our music ministry...

The Voice of the Assembly

Our most valuable instrument is YOU!  Did you know the primary instrument for the liturgy isn’t the organ, but the voice of the assembly?  A singing assembly is the most beautiful sound the liturgy can make.  Though it’s frequently out-of-tune, nothing matches the sound of an entire congregation joining together to praise God.  So don't worry if singing out "isn't your style" or that your voice might not be good enough, there's an old saying: “If God gave you a good voice, raise it and sing praise with it.  And if God gave you a bad voice, raise it even louder and get even!”

We've heard your voice during Mass. Yes, you! Keep doing that beautiful singing that you do--just do it from the choir loft! Get in touch with our Music Director and join one of our Mass's choirs!

Adult Choir

Our adult choir sings a variety of musical styles at our 12:00 Noon Sunday liturgy, enriching it by adding music beyond the congregation’s capabilities.  Weekly rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 8:00 – 9:30 pm.  No audition is necessary, you don't need any musical experience, and you won't ever have to sing a solo if you don't want to.  And it's OK to come and just listen.

Did you know that singing can enhance your well-being, reduce your feelings of pain and even prolong your life?  Studies have linked singing with a lower heart rate, decreased blood pressure, improved lung capacity, higher energy levels, better posture and reduced stress.  So if you sing in the car or the shower, why not do it with other people? (Sing, not shower!).

Youth Choir

Our Youth Choir sings most Sundays at the 10:00 am Mass.  Singing helps children express their emotions in acceptable ways while teaching them teamwork.  And “adults benefit spiritually…when children take part in the Mass,” (“Decree and Directory for Masses with Children” published by Pope Paul VI in 1973).  So if you know any student in 4th grade or older, who sings or plays a musical instrument, we rehearse Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 – 4:15 pm.

Instrumentalists

If you know anyone who plays an instrument, they’re welcome to come play at whichever mass fits their schedule, either for a special occasion or as frequently as they wish, on their own instrument or one of ours...
